According to a report from WSJ.com, it appears that Huawei is also jumping on the smartwatch train and will unveil its own version during Mobile World Congress 2014, scheduled to kick off in Barcelona on Feburary 24th. The company will also unveil a new smartphone as well as two new tablets.
According to Huawei, the smartphone that will be unveiled at MWC 2014 is not the successor of the Ascend P6 flagship, which company plans to unveil at its own launch even later this year. Unfortunately, the same source also declined to unveil any details regarding the smartwatch either but judging from the push of the company to get more involved in general consumer market, like it did with its Tron gaming console at CES, we are quite sure that Huawei's smartwatch should be quite interesting.
Although the smartwatch market is only gearing up with the likes of Sony, Pebble and Samsung's Galaxy Gear, it is obvious that this will be quite a big market and some analysts are suggesting that we will see a huge growth as soon as Apple joins in on the fun.
Huawei is not the only Chinese company interesting in this market as ZTE also announced its plans to unveil the smartwatch in the second quarter of this year as well.
