ASUS to come up with gaming handheld?

Tegra 4 and Android 4.3

AnTuTu is a benchmark program for Android devices, which can automatically publish benchmark results in the internet. Every now end then devices get benchmarked that are not yet available for the public and this time it appears, that results from an upcoming ASUS handheld gaming device might have emerged.

At least that is what we would guess once we have a closer look at the results as well as at the specifications of the device.

A closer look at the specs reveals there is an NVIDIA Tegra 4 chip running at 1912 MHz and there are 2 Gigabyte RAM as well as 8 Gigabyte internal storage. Apart form that there is a display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and in case of the operating system there is Android 4.3. Overall this configuration reminds us quite a bit of NVIDIA's Project Shield.

Wether coming up with a handheld gaming console based on Tegra 4 will make sense or not that is a legitimate question, especially if you keep in mind, that soon Tegra K1 will be available, which offers quite a bit of extra performance over Tegra 4.
