Plextor has been able to come up with quite a few really good SSDs in the past years. Performance as well as reliability with their drives was always on a highly competitive level. Now the company launches their sixth generation of solid state drives - M6 Series.

With their new M6 Series Solid State Drives, Plextor is claiming to launch their next generation firmware. The new drives will be available with 2.5 inch form factor as well as mSATA. Other than that there will also be M.2 PCI Express SSDs, which might be even quicker thatn the SATA and mSATA models.

Next to a new range of consumer products also Plextor is aiming at the enterprise Market. The company is about to push in the professional market. Therefore there will be products specifically for cloud-computing environment. Furthermore there will be drives suitable for read- as well as write-intensive server applications.

Plextor is about to officially announce the new drive on January 8th during CES 2014.
