When it comes to motherboards from Gigabyte, the UD7 model is usually their flagship product. The manufacturer now announced, that their latest Z87X-UD7 TH got Thunderbolt 2 certified, whereas this board features two Thunderbolt 2 ports.
Gigabyte provided their latest UD7 motherboard for Sockel LGA1150 processors with the same design you can find with other Ultra Durable motherboards, but in this case, the large heatsinks on PCH as well as VRM area got colored grey and orange. Apart from that there is a black PCB, black expansion slots as well as some grey spots.
A closer look at the specifiactions reveals that this board comes with a plethora of features. There is for example a Realtek ALC898 audio chip, two Intel Gigabit Ethernet ports, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac supporting 2.4 as well as 5 GHz dual-band, five PCI Express x16 slots and two PCI Express x1 slots, six SATA 6Gbps ports via the PCH and 4 additional SATA 6Gbps ports via a Marvell 88SE9230 chips, a total of eight USB 3.0/2.0 ports and the already mentioned two Thunderbolt ports via Intel DSL5520 chip.
