MSI rolls out R9 270 Gaming 4G graphics card

R9 270X with 4GB of memory

MSI has introduced yet another member of its Gaming series, the R9 270X 4G Gaming graphics card. Pairing up the standard R9 270X with its own Twin Frozr IV Advanced cooler as well as an additional 2GB of video memory for today's game titles, the R9 270X 4G will definitely find its place on the market.

MSI decided to use 4GB of GDDR5 memory on its new MSI R9 270X graphics card due to the fact that game titles like Battlefield 4, Far Cry 3, Crysis 3, Skyrim, Max Payne 3 and others clearly utilize more than 2GB of video memory. The fact that the next year promises some even more graphically intensive games, more memory is certainly a good investment, according to MSI.

The new MSI R9 270X Gaming 4G is based on AMD's Curacao XT GPU and packs 1280 Stream Processors and works at 1030MHz base GPU and 1120MHz Boost GPU clocks. The aforementioned 4GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 256-bit memory interface ended up clocked at 5600MHz.

As expected MSI's new R9 270X 4G is paired up with the recognizable MSI Twin Frozr IV Advanced dual-slot, dual-fan cooler with Gaming red/black color scheme. The new graphics card is also equipped with Military Class 4 components and bundled with MSI's MSI Gaming App.

Unfortunately, there was no word on the actual release date or the price.
