Gigabyte's R9 290X WindForce card pictured

Coming soon

There will be a plenty of custom-cooled R9 290X and R9 290 graphics cards during this month and Gigabyte certainly will not miss that train as we now have the first picture of custom-cooled R9 290X that will feature Gigabyte's very own WindForce 3X 450 dual-slot cooler.

Although we still do not have full details, we do know that the new R9 290X graphic card will be known under the GV-R929XOC-4GD, and judging from that same model name, will feature a factory-overclock. According to the leaked sales kit, it should be up to 15.9dB quieter when compared to reference cooler and GPU will supposedly set at around 1040MHz.

Unfortunately, we still do not have full details but we are quite sure that the Windforce 3X 450 will be much better than the reference solution. In case you missed it, the R9 290X is AMD's latest flagship Hawaii-based graphics card with 2816 Stream Processors, 176 Texture Units, 64 ROPs, 4GB of GDDR5 memory and a 512-bit memory interface.

According to our earlier information, custom R9 290X as well as the R9 290 graphics card should start to show up before Christmas, or in a couple of next weeks.
