After brands like ASUS, Gigabyte, Club3D and quite a few others also XFX is launching their new Radeon R9 and R7 200 Series graphics cards. Meanwhile the manufacturer has a complete line-up ready, which goes from high-end to entry-level and therefore there is something for everybody.
At this point we don't want to discuss the specs of the latest AMD based cards again. Instead we focus on a rather obvious change, which concerns the cooler you get with the latest XFX cards. The old version of the Double Dissipation cooler, which XFX puts on it's cards, struggled keeping a Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition cool. Judging by the looks of it, the new cooler features a bigger shroud as well as larger fans, which are definitely two things, that point into the right direction.
Regarding specs XFX ships all their new R9 and R7 200 Series cards with reference clocks and reference PCBs. It looks like the AMD board partner is playing it safe - again.
Heading over to Geizhals.at reveals that the cards are listed but not yet available. We expect these cards to be available soon whereas the prices will be slightly higher than the reference cards, since there is a custom cooler.
