It looks like final specs for the upcoming Radeon HD R9 290X have surfaced. A Japanese website is sharing, what seems to be, an official slide from AMD showing, shader count as well as clock speeds. Apparently the R9 290 is going to be a massive graphics card if these specs are true.
On the slide, there are specs for the R9 290 as well as the R9 290X. The new flagship, the Radeon R9 290X will feature 2'816 shader units and a maximum clock speed of 1'000 MHz. When it comes to the Radeon R9 290, there might be 2'560 shader units combined with a maximum clock of 947 MHz. Like with the Radeon HD 7790 the base clock is history and the chip will automatically clock to a certain maximum.
Both high-end cards might feature a 512 Bit wide memory interface and they ship with 4 Gigabyte VRAM clocked at 5 GHz. In case of power connectors we will find an eight pin as well as a six pin connector, which means that maximum board power is 300 Watt.
If all the rumors, which are floating around are true, then AMD is going to present the R5, R7 as well as R9 cards tomorrow, expect for the R9 290X, which might follow in one week.
