MSI has released and teased more details regarding its upcoming MSI Geforce GTX 780 Lightning graphics card that is scheduled to launch on 7th of August, including the new GPU Reactor module as well as some results that Jon "Elmor" Sandström managed to score with the new Lightning and LN2.
In a set of pictures showed at MSI Europe Facebook page, MSI teased the shroud of the cooler that will have embedded Lightning letters on the top as well as a picture of the GPU Reactor module, that according to MSI, is an upgraded version that will most likely even further improve overclocking potential of the upcoming GTX 780 Lightning. In case you missed it earlier, the GPU Reactor is an add-on PCB device that improved VRM stability by adding a set of tantalum capacitors and should, according to MSI, provide higher power volume for the GPU, eliminate GPU power noise (ripple) and generally improve overclocking stability.
The GPU Reactor picture also revealed a rather different looking backplate that might suggest that MSI will go for a new version of its quite famous Twin Frozr cooler and while Twin Frozr IV already did quite a good job on the GTX 780 we guess that MSI simply wants to have even better version of it for its flagship graphics card.
In addition to the set of pictures that teased some details of the upcoming GTX 780 Lightning, MSI also published a screenshot of Jon “Elmor” Standström 3DMark 11 P20195 score that he managed to get with the GTX 780 Lightning, cooled, of course, with LN2.
