LG Optimus G2 coming on August 7, Nexus 5 in October

Nexus 5 quite similar to Optimus G2

LG has officially sent out invites for its Optimus G2 launch event but a recent leak actually revealed almost everything regarding the smartphone, including its impressive 5.2-inch IPS 1080p display with thin bezel and Snapdragon 800 chipset. On a similar note, LG is apparently and after all, working on the Nexus 5 that should be announced in October and pretty much be based on the Optimus G2 smartphone.

LG will officially unveil the new Optimus G2 at an event scheduled for August 7th but the smartphone should hit the market a couple of weeks later, on August 20th. In case you missed the previous leak, the Optimus G2 will feature a 5.2-inch IPS 1080p screen with a very thin bezel and will most likely based on a 2.2-mm thick panel that LG actually showed earlier. The new Optimus G2 smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 800 chipset with four Krait 400 CPU cores clocked at 2.3GHz and paired up with 2 or 3GB of RAM, depending what LG actually chooses. It will support 150Mbps LTE and feature a 2,700mAh removable battery. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.

It also comes with a 13-megapixel camera on the back and feature a rather unique design with volume buttons (that might have a multiple functions) placed on the back, above and below the camera as well as dual-speakers at the bottom.

On a similar note, LG is apparently working on the Nexus 5 device as well that should be based on the Optimus G2 and, according to rumors, should come in October. It should be running on Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie OS and we are quite sure that LG and Google will throw in a few more features that should differentiate it from the rest of the competition.
