Intel K-series overclocking possible on ASRock's H87 and B85

Thanks to Non-Z OC feature

ASRock has announced that overclocking Intel K-series CPUs is not limited to Z87 motherboard but can be actually done on both ASRock H87 and B85 motherboards thanks to neat feature called Non-Z OC.

Thanks to this feature, you can actually pair Intel K-series CPU with ASRock's Fatal1ty H87 Performance or any other H87/B85 motherboard and overclock the CPU with a simple option switch in the BIOS. The first motherboard that will have the Non-Z OC feature is exactly the ASRock Fatal1ty H87 Performance that has 8-phase power design. According to the video released by ASRock, the Core i7-4670K and Core i7-4770K can be overclocked by up to 26 percent with a simple switch of the Non-Z OC feature sitting in the OC Tweaker page of ASRock's new UEFI BIOS.

ASRock noted that Non-Z OC feature will not be limited to the Fatal1ty H87 Performance but we guess that entry level motherboards will have slightly lower overclocking potential. In any case, it is a really nice feature not limiting the overclocking to Z87-based motherboards.
