AMD has recently revealed its two new AMD FX-9000 series CPU and just a few days later we have some of the first pre-order listings that point out to a quite steep price.
In case you missed them earlier, the FX-9590 and the FX-9370 have an impressive clock speeds but also a quite high 220W TDP. The Tech Report revealed additional details including a base clock of 4.4GHz and the Turbo clock of 4.7GHz for the FX-9370 as well as base clock of 4.7GHz and Turbo of 5.0GHz for the new flagship FX-9590.
Judging from the part numbers and the WOF suffix, acquired from the listed PCSuperstore retailer/e-tailer, it appears that both of these CPUs will be shipped without a boxed cooler. As noted earlier, with a price of US $920.31 for the Fx-950 and US $576.27 for the FX-9370, these two CPUs come very close to Intel's Core i7-3930K and the Core i7-3960X. Of course, these are only early listings and the final price might be lower.
AMD clearly targets enthusiasts with the new FX-9000 series CPUs but if the listed pre-order price proves to be right, we are not sure how well these CPUs would sell.
