Last year, Intel and AMD made a collaboration in order to launch the first chip packing an Intel CPU with an AMD graphics chip. With Kaby Lake-G, Intel packs a quad core CPU together with a RX Vega M GPU with HBM2 memory. A few weeks ago, during CES 2018, we have seen the first processors based on this collaboration and now, finally, there are the first benchmarks.


The guys over at Playwares have tested an Intel NUC PC based on Kaby Lake Core i7-8809G and RX Vega M graphics card. The CPU sports four core and eight thread, with a base clock of 3.10GHz and a boost clock of 4.20GHz. The RX Vega M GH GPU comes with 24 CUs, 1536 Stream Processors, 96 TMUs, 64 ROPs and 4GB of HBM2 memory. In addition, the system packs 16GB of DDR4-2666 and a Samsung M.2 960 Pro 1TB M.2 SSD.

According to the benchmarks, this little PC can offer a good 1080p gaming experience. Having a closer look to the results, we see 50 fps in Rise of the Tomb Raider with ultra settings, and 65 fps in PUBG using a custom preset. Furthermore, the system can reach 34 fps on Assassin's Creed Origins at ultra settings. On 3DMark Time Spy the system is faster than a GTX 1050 Ti, which is pretty impressive due to the size of the NUC.
