A while back PowerColor released Devil Box, the first external GPU enclosure compatible with any graphics card around. Almost one year ago ASUS has revealed the XG Station 2 and now they are ready to introduce the XG Station Pro.
The XG Station Pro supports Intel Thunderbolt 3 as well as USB Type-C, which means you can connect it to any recent notebook or mini-PC in order to boost its 3D performance. ASUS isn't the first one to come up with an external case for graphics cards. A few months back PowerColor and Razer announced their external GPU enclosures, offering the same functionality.
According to the product page ASUS's XG Station Pro is compatible with AMD Radeon RX Vega series as well as with Nvidia GeForce GTX 10 series graphics cards. The only limitation is set to the size of the graphics card since the space available make it only compatible with 2.5-slot GPU with a max length of 310 millimeters. The external PSU offers up to 330W power supply that is suitable for any up-to-date graphics card.
The XG Station Pro features several onboard RGB LEDs and it's compatible with ASUS Aura Sync. The ASUS Gaming Station should become available during this month.
