The CES 2018 didn't start yet but we are starting to see pre-show teases already. LG is at the forefront of OLED TV panel production and during the CES 2018 they will be showing off the largest and highest resolution OLED screen ever made.


The previous largest LG OLED TV featured a 77-inch panel with 4K resolution. This panel has been used also from other TV manufacturers like Sony and Panasonic. OLED display panels are renowned for their vivid colours and deep blacks since the pixel can be turned completely off for black. The new screen boasts an 88-inch diagonal and has a resolution of 7680 x 4320 also known as UHD 8K. That's four times the pixels of the 4K and sixteen times the pixels of 1080p monitor.

Although the OLED technology looks pretty promising, South Korean rival Samsung has shifted its focus away from OLED and is now promoting QLED TV. Due to a more economical production process, the QLED TV can be way more cheaper than current OLED screen. The QLED TVs come with quantum dots feature that adds vibrant colour reproduction. Furthermore they come with excellent colour gamut reproduction and for strong brightness capabilities.

In other words, during the CES 2018 we might see new products also from Samsung and other rivals.
