ASUS unveils WS C422 Pro/SE motherboard

Designed for workstations

ASUS has revealed the full specifications of its WS C422 Pro/SE motherboard. This model belongs to the high-end series and it's recommended for Skylake-W Xeon processors. This board is designed for high-end desktops and workstations. The WS C422 Pro/SE is the exact same motherboard as the WS X299 Pro, except that it swaps the consumer X299 chipset for a proper workstation-focused C422 offering.

Like the same model from the previous generation the WS C422 Pro/SE is based on an ATX form factor. There are four full-sized PCIe slots with steel reinforcements and one PCIe x4 slot. Compared to the previous version, this WS C422 Pro/SE features a heavier CPU VRM heatsink that is connected using a heat pipe to another solid block. This way the chips should receive adequate cooling.

In the case of storage you'll find six angled SATA ports, one U.2 port and two M.2 slots. Looking for additional features we find a debug display, several onboard buttons and support for USB 3.1 ports. ASUS equips the WS C422 Pro/SE with two USB 3.1 Gen2 ports, four USB 3.1 Gen1 ports and four USB 2.0 connectors. Furthermore there are two Intel Gigabit Ethernet ports and the analogue audio panel with optical out.

So far ASUS has not revealed any details on pricing and availability regarding the WS C422 Pro/SE.
