Most gaming laptops are powered by Intel CPUs and have been for many years. AMD with Ryzen has introduces a new respectable desktop chip that now can be found also on gaming notebook. With the ROG Strix GL702ZC gaming notebook, ASUS is going to release the world's first gaming laptop powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 processor.
Featuring an FHD display with Freesync support makes for a compelling combination and allows for smooth gaming. Inside the ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC we find a AMD Radeon RX580 GPU with 4GB of memory. There is also a Ryzen 7 1700 CPU, up to 32GB of 2800MHz memory, one NVMe PCIe SSDs and a 1TB SATA HDD. According to ASUS, you can remove the 2.5" HDD and replace it with another 2.5" SSD.
The Asus ROG Strix GL702ZC features Aura lighting which become quite useful with the built-in keyboard with individual key lighting. Regarding the connectivity options, ASUS has equipped the ROG Strix GL702ZC with a Gigabit Ethernet connector, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, DS/MMC cards, HD Webcam and 2x audio combo jacks. Furthermore there are four USB 3.0 ports and one USB 3.1 Type-C port. Last but not least there is a miniDisplayPort 1.4 paired with one HDMI 2.0 port.
