According to latest rumors, Intel is planning to release their new Coffee Lake series of CPUs alongside the Z370 chipset in Q4 2017. Although the acclaimed launch date will be somewhen in October, news leaks related to Coffee Lake are making it through almost every day now.


The upcoming Intel 300 series chipset will still use the current socket LGA 1151. Although the chipset and the pin-count is the same as on the current 200 series, you will need a new motherboard. According to Benchlife, Intel’s Z370 platform could receive a significant upgrade on the network side such as an integrated WiFi module and support for a faster Ethernet standard. Furthermore there will be more USB 3.0 ports as well as USB 3.1 connectors.

The new chipset lineup will include the Z370 and H370 chipsets. While the Z370 is designed for enthusiast motherboards, the H370 is going to replace the current H270 chipset which is Intel’s current mainstream offering. In addition Intel will add an entry-level chipset which is going to be called H310. The most interesting thing about latest chart that surface is without a doubt that the Intel Z390 chipset has been mentioned. It's the first time that we see this particular chipset and we are wondering what’s going to be behind this chip. If we were to guess we’d say Intel is/has been working on an improved Z370 chipset with additional features.
