BenQ has added another monitor with a 35-inch panel, 3440 x 1440 resolution and 1800R curvature to its lineup. The display comes with an AMVA panel from AU Optronics and it’s supposed to be HDR compatible. According to pcmonitors.info, the panel can be set up to 100Hz refresh rate.



As we already mentioned the EX3501R monitor has been equipped with a 35-inch panel offering 3440 x 1440 pixel resolution. On the connector side of things we find one DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.0 ports and USB Type-C connectors. The BenQ EX3501R is compatible with AMD FreeSync and it also supports 24Hz, 25Hz and 30Hz refresh rate for movie content.

On top of the convincing specs there is a very well-built aluminum frame, which allows for pan, tilt, swivel and height adjustment. Furthermore it is compatible with 100 x 100mm VESA mounts making this display ideal for multi-monitor configurations if required.

According to BenQ, this display comes with "HDR support". This eye-catching name is merely a simulation. While standard HDR takes advantage of HDR10 content, BenQ’s HDR system does not adhere to any common HDR standards. A typical HDR display hits 1'000 cd/m2 brightness, while the BenQ EX3501R only achieves 300 cd/m2 maximum brightness which is not enough to comply with the current HDR starndard.
