ASRock has revealed the full specifications of its X399 Fatal1ty Professional Gaming motherboard. A few months ago during Computex 2017, ASRock has unveiled their first two AMD X399 motherboards which are compatible with the upcoming AMD Threadripper processors. Meanwhile it looks like the company is ready to introduce this new platform.
Today we have a look at the ASRock X399 Professional Gaming motherboard, which packs the new AMD TR4 socket, eight DDR4 DIMM slots and several new features. The motherboard is based on an ATX form factor featuring RGB backlight underneath each heat sink and there are steel reinforcements on the PCIe slots. In general the layout is similar to the other high-end motherboards and therefore there are four full-sized PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and one PCIe x1 slot.
On the storage side, the X399 Fatal1ty Professional Gaming features a single U.2 port, three M.2 slots and eight angled SATA ports. The first M.2 slot is placed in the middle of the motherboard, the second one is in the bottom area and the third is placed in the bottom right corner of the motherboard. According to the image, all the slots might be compatible with 22110 units (110mm). Unlike many other manufacturers, ASRock isn't offering any M.2 heat sink.
According to a picture from Computex 2017, looking at the external connectors placed directly at the I/O-panel, ASRock equipped the X399 Fatal1ty Professional Gaming motherboard with one PS/2 port, six USB 3.0 ports and two USB 3.1 Gen2 ports. Furthermore there is one Aquantia Gigabit Ethernet port and the analogue audio panel with optical out as well as a WiFi module with two connectors for antennas.
