The ASUS Prime X299-Deluxe is another Intel X299 motherboard that should help filling gaps in the ASUS X299 lineup. So far there are only five X299 motherboards from ASUS, which are the Prime X299-A, the Prime X299-Deluxe, the ROG Strix X299-E Gaming, the TUF X299 Mark 1 and Mark 2. Compared to the X99-Deluxe, the Prime X299-Deluxe offers a similar design with white and black color scheme.


Like the same model from the previous generation the Prime X299-Deluxe is based on an ATX form factor, yet this time ASUS is using all the area available on the PCB. Nevertheless the Prime X299-Deluxe also comes with RGB backlight above each heat sink and there are steel reinforcements on three PCIe slots. In the middle part of the motherboard, ASUS has added a tiny OLED display called LiveDash which shows custom information such as system temperatures, CPU frequency, fan speed and much more.

In general the layout is quite similar to the previous model and therefore it has also been equipped with four full-sized PCIe 3.0 x16 slots. With a 44-lane CPU, the motherboard supports x16/ x4/ x16/ x8 configurations. There are seven SATA ports but only six of them have been angled. Apart from that you get two M.2 slots allowing the installation of differently sized SSDs. The first M.2 slot is placed under the PCH heat sink and is compatible with 2280 units, while the second one is in the center area and it supports 22110 SSDs. Furthermore there is a U.2 port right next all the SATA ports.

Since the Prime X299-Deluxe should belong to the vendor’s high-end series, there is also a plastic I/O cover which received a RGB backlight. Furthermore we also see all the bells and whistles you'd ask for in the event of overclocking. According to Geizhals, the ASUS Prime X299-Deluxe is already available for 424 Euro.
