ASUS releases B350-F Strix Gaming motherboard

Based on ATX form factor

The ASUS ROG B350-F Strix Gaming is another AMD AM4 motherboard that should help filling gaps ASUS’ AM4 lineup. So far there are only four B350 motherboards from ASUS that all belong to the Prime series. Compared to the ROG X370-F Strix Gaming, the new B350-F Strix Gaming should be cheaper yet still pack quite a few features.

The ASUS ROG STRIX B350-F Gaming comes with RGB backlight underneath the plastic cover and there are steel reinforcements on two full-sized PCIe slot. In general the layout is quite simple. In total there are three full-sized PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slots and three PCIe 2.0 x1 slots. The B350 chipset offers a limited number of PCI lanes, only the top PCI Express slot runs at Gen 3.0 X16 (or X8 if the secondary slot is populated) while the second slot runs at Gen 3.0 X4.

In the storage department we find six SATA ports and all of them have been angled. Apart from that you get one M.2 slot allowing the installation of differently sized SSDs. The M.2 slot is placed in the middle part of the motherboard and it’s compatible with 22110 units. Looking for additional features we find ASUS ROG SupremeFX onboard audio solution, LAN Guard with an Intel Ethernet port and a good mix of connectors at the I/O panel.

This particular board should be placed somewhere between the mid-range and the high-end market segment, in the case of B350, and also in general we think it could be an interesting choice. So far ASUS has not revealed details on pricing and availability regarding their ASUS ROG B350-F Strix Gaming but we are sure we will get to know more during upcoming Computex 2017.
