Deepcool refreshes its Captain EX AIO cooler

Now with RGB lighting

During 2014 and 2015, we have reviewed quite a few CPU coolers from Deepcool including its Captain all-in-one liquid series. A few years later Deepcool is giving those products an overhaul. The new Captain EX RGB all-in-one cooler offers the same cooling performance as the already available Captain EX products, but comes with a new fan controller and RGB lighting.

The Deepcool Captain 120EX RGB and the Deepcool Captain 240EX RGB devices refresh the Captain 120EX/240EX cooling systems. Like with the previous generation, Deepcool offers two products based on 120mm and 240mm radiators (respectively) as well as one or two 120mm fans. Both closed-loop coolers are compatible with all modern sockets from AMD (including AM4) and Intel (including LGA2011-v3 and LGA1151). Performance wise, the coolers are rated for CPUs with up to 150 Watts TDP.

The main differences between the Captain EX and the Captain EX RGB are the RGB LEDs integrated into waterblocks. The lighting of the Deepcool Captain EX RGB coolers can be controlled using the included wired controller or the motherboard software (such as ASUS Aura).

The Captain 120EX RGB and the Captain 240EX RGB from Deepcool will be available during next month for $99.99 and $129.99 respectively.
