Dell has expanded its monitor lineup with a new model which features a 30-inch panel with 3840 x 2160 resolution and an OLED panel. According to Dell the display covers 100 percent of the Adobe RGB, sRGB and Rec709 color spectrum and a few other color standards.
As we already mentioned the UP3017Q monitor has been equipped with a 30-inch panel and 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution. There is one mini-DisplayPort 1.2 connector, one HDMI 2.0 port and one USB Type-C which offers video and data connectivity. According to Dell, the display comes with a contrast ratio of 1'000'000:1 and 300 cd/m2 brightness. Dell is marketing this display for content creators and the fact that the panel covers 100 percent of the Adobe RGB color spectrum is certainly a commitment into that direction.
Since this isn't a gaming monitor, you will not find support for either FreeSync or G-Sync. On top of the convincing specs there is a very well-built aluminum frame, which allows for pan, tilt, swivel and height adjustment. Furthermore it is compatible with VESA mounts (100 mm) making this display ideal for multi-monitor configurations if required. The new Dell UP3017Q should be soon available in Dell’s official store for $3500 US.
