While we’ve already seen plenty of leaks and benchmarks based on Intel's upcoming Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake processors, some new details on the Core i5-7600K appeared. A few days ago we have seen new details on Intel’s Core i7-7700K and today it’s the Core i5-7600K’s turn.


The new tests confirm what we’ve already seen with all the other leaks. The Core i5-7600K is on average 7% faster in multi-threaded applications compared to the Core i5-6600K. Sadly Guru3D hasn't tested the Core i5-6600K using the same set of benchmarks they’ve used for other CPUs. Nevertheless in single-threaded applications we can see that the Core i5-7600K is as fast as a Core i7-6700K. Since the boost clock on the new i5-7600K is 8% higher than with the i5-6600K Skylake such a result was to be expected.

In addition they also ran a few 3D tests using DX 12 and DX 11 games. The test setup is based on a Nvidia GTX 1080 graphics card and shows a tiny difference between the Core i5-7600K and the Core i5-6600K. Last but least they also tested the CPU overclocked to 5GHz with 1.30 to 1.35 Volts. The results look appear to look pretty promising, especially since the base clock of this particular CPU is set to 3800MHz.

So far it appears that Kaby Lake won't be a big upgrade coming from Skylake even because you might need a delid it in case you want reasonable CPU temperatures.
