It appears Playstation 4 Pro might be following the latest trend by melting a part of its chassis under load due to extreme heat.
While Sony has promised that 4K-ready Playstation 4 Pro will be super cool thanks to its fancy new 16nm APU, and should not exceed 35C, one user has reported that its Playstation 4 Pro has managed to melt a side of the unit.
While this is still unconfirmed, the melted part of the Playstation 4 is conveniently located at the fan placement, which might suggest that the fan on that unit failed completely and has built up enough heat to burn down the chassis.
The issue has been posted at Twitter but Tweaktown compared the Fixit teardown with the place that got scorched.
