Nvidia reports its Q3 FY 2017 financial results

Record quarter with US $2 billion in revenue

Nvidia has announced its financial report for the third quarter of fiscal 2017, reporting a record quarter with US $2 billion in revenue, up by 54 percent compared to the last year.

In addition to a US $2004 million revenue, Nvidia also reported a gross margin of 59 percent with operating income of US $639 million, up by 161 percent compared to the same quarter last year and a net income of US $542 million, which is up by 161 percent from last year. Earnings per share were at $0.83 or 89 percent higher compared to the last year.

While it already had great results in its previous Q2 FY 2017 financial report, the Q3 FY 2017 report is even more impressive.

The biggest earner was its GPU division, which was driven by the launch of the Pascal GPU, reaching US $1.244 billion, up by 63 percent compared to the same quarter last year. Nvidia also gained some ground in Datacenter and Automotive GPU departments.

It is good to see that the GPU market is doing well, especially the core gaming GPU market, so hopefully the entire PC gaming will report a growth in this year.
