A well known overclocker, Elmor, managed to hit a new world record by overclocking Intel's Broadwell-E Core i7-6950X CPU to a rather incredible 5731.78MHz.
During the Intel Developer Forum 2016 Technical Innovation event, Elmor managed to push the Core i7-6950X to 5731.78MHz, which is a 91.06 percent overclock from its reference clock. The overclocking was done on ASUS Rampage V Edition 10 X99 motherboard, G.Skill's Trident Z DDR4 memory and ASUS GTX 980 Ti Matrix graphics card.
Of course, LN2 was used for cooling the CPU and you can check out the picture of the setup below.
Previous record was held by slamms and was at 5726.84MHz but Elmor is currently the new king when it comes to Broadwell-E overclocking.
This is obviously a great sample so we are quite sure that Elmor will probably manage to push it even further so hopefully we will see an even higher overclock soon.
