Upcoming Battlefield 1 supports DirectX 12

Async Compute as well

EA/DICE upcoming Battlefield 1 game will have support for DirectX 12 and it is even possible that it will support Async Compute as well.

While EA and DICE did not confirm it specifically, a recent gameplay video from Battlefield 1 actually confirmed that there is an option to enable DirectX 12 on PC. The aforementioned gameplay footage was at maxed out settings at 1440p and running on Skylake Core i7 CPU and a GTX 1080.

Of course, this does not confirm that Battlefield 1 will support Async Compute but EA/DICE has been working with AMD for quite some time so it is most likely that support will be there when the game launches.

The DirectX 12 support does not come as a big surprise since EA/DICE already had a lot of experience with AMD Mantle API which was included in Battlefield 4.

Hopefully we will hear more and see more Battlefield 1 footage as it looks really impressive.
