Nvidia Pascal has issues with dual-link DVI

Will not boot Windows if the pixel clock is over 330MHz

It appears that Nvidia's Pascal-based GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 graphics cards have another issue that won't be limited to Founders Edition graphics cards, as it has to do with high pixel clocks (refresh-rate) on the dual-link DVI port.

According to an extensive Reddit thread, users that are running monitors that use dual-link DVI port can't boot into Windows when pixel clocks is set at higher than 330MHz. It appears that the card has no issues in running the monitor at pixel clocks but only to boot into Windows at it, since users can revert to default settings and then set those refresh-rates and pixels clocks.

One of the users with custom GTX 1070 that the maximum refresh rate on the 1440p monitor is 81Hz, which is the highest refresh rate that can be hit without pipxel clock going over 330MHz.

As noted, the issue is not limited to Founders Edition graphics cards but affects all GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 graphics cards so hopefully Nvidia will have a way on fixing this issue soon.
