ASRock has released a new BIOS update for most, if not all, of its Intel X99 Express chipset motherboards which should bring support for upcoming Intel 14nm Broadwell-E CPUs.
As noted, the new BIOS version is available for pretty much all ASRock motherboards based on Intel's X99 Express chipset including the flagship X99 OC Formula and Fatal1ty X99 Professional as well as the smaller X99E-ITX/ac motherboard.
In case you missed it, the flagship Intel Broadwell-E is the Core i7-6950X, which is also the first consumer 10-core CPU from Intel. The Core i7-6950X has 25MB of L3 cache and a clock speed of up to 3.5GHz and comes with support for Intel Hyper-Threading, so you are looking at 20 threads.
The rest of the Intel 14nm Broadwell-E lineup include the Core i7-6900K, Core i7-6850K and the Core i7-6800K CPUs.
Although these CPUs use the same LGA2011v3 socket, they will still need a BIOS update in order to work on existing X99 Express chipset motherboard and ASRock motherboards are now ready.
