Already announced earlier in January at CES 2016, AMD has now officially released its new A-series APU, the A10-7890K, and the new Athlon X4 880K CPU.
To be available soon, both new CPUs will will be fully unlocked and feature four CPU cores based on the same Steamroller CPU architecture as well as the same 95W TDP.
The AMD A10-7890K features two Steamroller CPU modules, or four cores, 2x2MB of L2 cache, dual-channel DDR3-2133 memory support and Radeon R7 GPU with 512 Stream Processors. The CPU clock, compared to the earlier A10-7870K flagship, is raised to 4.1GHz base and 4.3GHz maximum Turbo clock and the GPU is clocked at up to 866MHz.
The A10-7890K APU also comes with AMD's new Wraith reference CPU cooler, promising lower noise output and coming with a new design.
The Athlon X4 880K has pretty much the same specifications as the A10-7890K as it also features two Steamroller CPU modules and four x86 cores. It works at 100MHz lower clocks set at 4.0GHz base and 4.2GHZ maximum Turbo clock. It also comes with 2x2MB of L2 cache and supports DDR3-2133 memory. While it lacks the integrated GPU, the Athlon X4 880K still has the same 95W TDP.
AMD did not bundle the Athlon X4 880K with a Wraith cooler but instead it comes with AMD's "near-silent 125W Thermal Solution" which is pretty much the same design just without the shroud.
Both the A10-7890K and the Athlon X8 880K should be available soon with a MSRP of US $164.99 for the A10-7890K and US $94.99 for the Athlon X4 880K.
