Audio-Technica is a well known name in the audiophile headphone market but it appears that the company wants a piece of the lucrative gaming market as well with its new ATH-AG1x headset which should provide audiophile-grade sounds to gamers all around.

Based on 53mm drivers and featuring 15-30,000Hz frequency range, the ATH-AG1x promises some rather impressive sound quality, at least on paper. Although this is not the company's first gaming headset as the AT-AG1 did not really impress, the ATH-AG1x should improve and fix all the bugs seen in the first version.

According to PCGamer.com, which had a chance to try out the headset, this is probably the most impressive-sounding gaming headset on the market, despite its rather weird design that might not be for everyone.

Priced at US $300 (£240) the Audio-Technica ATH-AG1x is definitely a pricey item but so is all high-quality gaming equipment.
