Microsoft has acquired SwiftKey, a predictive keyboard company which is quite popular on both iOS and Android systems.

While not available on Microsoft Windows Phone OS, this will probably change soon as the company has been acquired by Microsoft. SwiftKey is currently installed on over 300 million iOS and Android smartphones and is considered one of the most popular touch screen keyboards on the market and support over 100 languages on the Android OS.

According to SwiftKey, the focus of the company has always been to build the best possible product for users and since its mission is to enhance interaction between people and technology, SwiftKey believes that joining Microsoft is the right net stage in their journey.

SwiftKey has promised that nothing will change anytime soon and that their apps will continue to be available on Android and iOS for free.

Microsoft has yet to comment the acquisition of the SwiftKey company but we are sure it has big plans to implement such keyboard on its Windows Phone OS and its Lumia devices.
