ASRock joins non-K Skylake overclocking list

With Sky OC technology for motherboards

ASRock has joined the list of motherboard manufacturers which have a new BIOS update to allow overclocking of non-K Skylake CPUs. TO make this work, ASRock has unveiled the new Sky OC technology, allowing any Core i7, Core i5, Core i3 and Pentium Skylake CPU to be overclocked on ASRock's Z170 motherboards.

While most other motherboard manufacturers relied on the overclocking community and its in-house overclockers, ASRock is actually the first motherboard manufacturer to officially launch BIOS updates for non-K Skylake overclocking on its official website.

ASRock's BIOS updates pretty much suffer from issues seen with other manufacturers as the onboard IGP and both CPU Turbo Ratio and C-State are disabled, but at least it gives you an ability to raise BCLK on any Skylake CPU.

ASRock has released BIOS updates for a total of 21 different motherboards and you can see the full list below.
