It appears that Intel's Skylake iGPU won't be as bad as earlier generations as according to new slides, it should be enough to drive some games at 720p and 900p resolutions with decent level of details. Some games, like League of Legends should be even playable at 1080p resolution.
Paired up with a better CPU performance compared to Broadwell, somewhere around 10 to 20 percent, the iGPU on Intel's 9th generation Core Skylake CPUs will offer over a 50 percent increase in performance compared to previous generation.
According to
the leaked slides over at Fanlesstech.com, there will be plenty of other features and advancements that puts the Skylake above the now available Broadwell CPUs.
While increased performance is definitely the most important focus, Intel also managed to provide up to 30 percent longer battery life for mobile chips, mostly thanks to better power efficiency, better connectivity as well as added security.
We are surely looking forward to check out the performance of the iGPU on Skylake CPUs as soon as those launch.
