G.Skill has announced its newest and world's first and fastest DDR4 128GB kit with 2800MHz frequency, the new G.Skill Ripjaws 4 128GB kit. The same 16GB modules that are a part of the 128GB kit, will also be available in other kits and at various frequency, ranging from DDR4-2133 to DDR4-2800.
Based on eight 16GB DDR4 modules featuring Samsung 8Gb high-density ICs, the new G.Skill Ripjaws 4 128GB memory kit works at 2800MHz with CL16-16-16-36 latency at 1.35V. While 16GB capacity modules have been available for server memory, this is the first time that we see such modules on the consumer market. Running in quad-channel mode, these kits have already been validated on ASUS' X99 Rampage V Extreme motherboard paired up with Intel Haswell-E CPU.
As expected, these same 16GB memory modules are also available in kits of up to eight modules per kit and in frequencies ranging from DDR4-2133MHz to DDR4-2800MHz.
Unfortunately, G.Skill did not reveal any details regarding precise availability date or the price, but you can expect a hefty price tag on the Ripjaws 4 128GB DDR4-2800MHz kit.
