Less than five percent of GTX 970 returned

According to Jon Peddie Research

It appears that the recent memory issue as well as wrong specifications on the GTX 970 actually did not hurt Nvidia that much as according to Jon Peddie Research, there have been as many as 5 percent of the buyers demanding refund from AIB suppliers.

The latest report from JPR sounds great for Nvidia and is pretty much what we expected, as despite its memory issue, the Geforce GTX 970 is still a great graphics card for that money. In case you missed it, the Geforce GTX 970, which technically features 4GB of VRAM, had some issues since 0.5GB of that memory is running at a slower rate, while the ROP count and L2 cache were actually wrong in the specification list, since it actually packs 56 ROPs and 1792KB and not 64 ROPs and 2048KB as it was originally announced.

Jon Peddie from JPR said that he :"heard as many as 5 percent of the buyers are demanding a refund from the AIB suppliers", while retailers are reporting just 1 to 2 percent, and only two of the UK's biggest retailers are currently offering refunds, and only until the end of this month.

While the both the memory issue and the wrongfully announce specifications are certainly a big deal, it was not enough for buyers to return their graphics cards as the GTX 970 is still much cheaper than the GTX 980 and still a good graphics card.
