EK Water Blocks, a well known manufacturer of liquid cooling solutions from Ljubljana, Slovenia, have announced its latest full cover water block, designed and engineered to be used with Gigabyte's Gaming G1 series Geforce GTX 970 graphics cards, the EK-FC970 GTX WF3.
The new EK-FC970 GTX WF3 is based on a full cover water block design which means it will actively cool the GPU, memory as well as the VRM part of non-reference Gigabyte GTX 970 Gaming G1 graphics card. Although Gigabyte's Windforce 3X cooler already does a great job in keeping the temperatures at decent levels, the EK-FC970 GTX WF3 water block from EK Water Blocks will most likely do much better when it comes to higher overclocking.
In addition to the full cover design, the EK-FC970 GTX WF3 water block also uses unique central inlet split-flow cooling engine design which allows it to be used with reversed water flow without compromising the cooling performance as well as allows it to be used with liquid systems that have a weaker pump.
The base of the EK-FC970 GTX WF3 water block is made of nickel-plated electrolytic copper while the top is made of POM Acetal or acrylic material, depending on the version. It also comes with pre-installed screw-in brass standoffs.
As noted, the EK-FC970 GTX WF3 will be available in two versions, Nickel and Acetal+Nickel, both priced at €109.95. EK Water Blocks will also offer a matching EK-FC970 GTX WF3 backplate in Black and Nickel version priced at €29.95 and €37.95, respectively.
