Linux Mint updates to version 17.1 "Rebecca"

MATE and Cinnamon

The Ubuntu Linux distribution, known as the Linux Mint, has now been updated to a new Linux Mint 17.1 "Rebecca" version and comes with MATE and Cinnamon environments.


The new 17.1 Linux Mint version, named "Rebecca", has LTS type (Long Time Support) and will last until 2019. Both MATE and Cinnamon environment versions have got their share of improvements as well.

The major part of this update contains stability and performance improvements. On the version shipping with MATE desktop environment, Compiz is now directly functional at first startup. The Cinnamon has been updated to version 2.4.

Linux Mint 17 owners have to wisely wait for the update, as those using the RC version should run the Update Manager and accept all the level 1 updates and those who want to try this GNU/Linux distribution for the first time can find the ISO via link below.
