ASUS' new X205TA Intel Atom notebook is finally available in the US and is actually one of the most affordable Windows 8.1 based notebooks on the market, priced at US $199.
Based around an 11.6-inch 1366x768 screen and powered by Intel's Bay Trail-T quad-core Z3737 Atom CPU clocked at 1.33GHz and paired up with 2GB of DDR3L-1333 memory. The entire ASUS EeeBook X205TA notebook measures 286 x 193.3 x 17.5 mm and weighs 980g which is slightly touching the netbook dimensions. The rest of the specifications include 802.11abgn WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, micro HDMI output, two USB 2.0 ports, 32GB of flash storage expandable via microSD card slot, 38Wh battery that should keep it running for around 12 hours, according to ASUS, as well as Windows 8.1 OS.
In order to ease the pain of having only 32GB of internal storage, ASUS is also giving 500GB of ASUS Webstorage for 2 years as well as a year of Office 365 subscription.
