During a recent interview, AMD's CEO, Rory Read has revealed that AMD's new K12 products are scheduled for the first quarter of 2016, if all goes well that is.
In an interview with Bloomberg, AMD's CEO, Rory Read noted that the company is targeting the first quarter of 2016 for product launches based on AMD's latest technologies. According to Read, AMD is expected to hit some rough patches in the new 18 months before the new designs start to bolster sale numbers.
As revealed earlier, AMD still has a couple of products to launch before we actually see the new K12 lineup, including Carrizo APUs scheduled to launch next year as well as new 20nm x86 and ARM SoCs. Earelier, AMD's CVP & GM of the client division Bernd Lienhard revealed during APU 14 event that AMD's FX-series CPUs are not dead and that, within two years, we will definitely see an update to the FX-series in the high-performance segment,
Earlier, AMD has revealed that it is working on a couple of new technologies including 3D stacked High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM), Processor-in-Memory (PIM), advanced 14nm FinFET manufacturing process as well as an processor that will have custom high-performance CPU core based on both x86 and ARM.
It appears that AMD is well on track and if all goes well, 2016 will be quite an exciting year for AMD, and the 2015 will mark the arrival of new 20nm GPUs, which should go well for AMD as well.
