The new generation of Intel Haswell-E CPUs with DDR4 memory support is quite close to the official launch, originally scheduled for September launch, as well as August 29 announcement.
We have already seen many rumors regarding prices for the new Intel Haswell-E CPUs and in case you missed them earlier, the new LGA2011-3 will have three models, same as the previous generation.
The lineup includes the new Core i7-5960X flagship CPU which is an eight-core SKU with Hyper-Threading, 20MB of L3 cache, 3.0GHz base clock, DDR4 memory support and 40-lane PCI Express configuration, 16+16+8. The official price of the i7-5960X is set at US $999.
The next in line are the two six core SKUs, the Core i7-5820K and the Core i7-5930K. The Core i7-5820K is a six-core part with enabled Hyper-Threading, 15MB of cache and clocked at 3.3GHz base frequency clock, integrated quad-channel DDR4 memory controller with support for DDR4-2133 memory and slightly lower number of PCI-Express 3.0 lanes with 16+8+4 lane configuration.
The Core i7-5930K CPU is quite similar to the Core i7-5820K. It is also an unlocked six-core part with Hyper-Threading enabled, has the same 15MB of cache, same memory support, but also comes with a higher 3.5GHz base frequency clock and 16+16+8 PCI-Express lane configuration. The prices for these six-core models is set at US $389 for the Core i7-5820K and US $583 for the Core i7.5930K.
If we analyze the current Haswell models based on LGA 1150 socket, we can see that the gap between an Core i7-4790K and Core-i7 5820K is not very high, but remember that the Haswell platform is based on cheaper products and DDR3 memory.
