Following AMD's official announcement of the new Radeon R9 285, today we have first pictures of the new Asus Radeon R9 285 Strix, based on AMD 28nm Tonga GPU.
As expected from a Strix Edition graphics card the new Asus Radeon R9 285 Strix also features a smart cooling solution, which will keep the fans still until the GPU reaches a certain temperature in order to cut down noise. Behind the Strix design, we are basically looking at a DirectCU II heatsink, with a great number of aluminum fins and a few nickel-plated heapipes that transfer heat from the GPU to the heatsink. The new Asus Radeon R9 285 Strix will feature a factory overclock and 2GB of GDDR5 memory. Since it is based on the new Tonga GPU, it will feature 1792 GNC 1.1 Stream Processor, 112 TMU, 32 ROP and a 256-bit wide memory interface.
This graphics card will be launched on 2nd September with and MSRP of 249$.
