After unveiling the G550JK gaming laptop with a 15.6-inch display, ASUS is finally revealing the specifications for this gaming notebook. It should feature an Intel Core i7 CPU and a GTX 850M GPU.
Originally announced during Computex 2014, without any hint about specifications, ASUS has now released the official specifications along with the release date, set for 20th of July.
The laptop measures at 384x254x28mm and the weight is set at 2.73kg. It features a 15.6-inch LED AG IPS FullHD display, which should be more than enough to offer a great gaming experience. This first model will feature an Intel Core i7 4710HQ CPU with 2.5Ghz of base clock on an Intel HM86 chipset motherboard, and 8 GB of DDR3 memory (there’s another empty slot to use). The GPU is an Nvidia GTX 850M with 2GB of GDDR3 memory. Yes, GDDR3, that is not a typo. It will feature a 7200RPM 750GB HDD, a DVD burner and Windows 8.1. The price tag says 1099$.
Even before being released, the G550JK set a strange record, which has been registered by the Guinness World record, as it has been used during the highest LAN Party ever, happened on the top of Mount Elbert (4401m) in the Rocky Mountains.
