BIG UPDATE!3^ Mod: Side Panel
Well guys, now we enter the first serious step of this mod!
The old panel of the phantom was too simple and did not see almost nothing of what was inside, as the skyscraper 612s covering the entire visual, so intent on changing the panel, I created a new one, still in the works, but we are well under way: D
After finding a nice slab of plexy placed in the attic 2mm, take measurements of the old panel and ... with a bit of paper tape I trace the parts that need to skip
Now, holding the panel in place with a PRE-ASSEMBLED ....
I started to cut him!
Test n°1 : jigsaw
I was literally "breaking into a thousand pieces" panel, luck that the split is not got to where I was interested ...
brat saw,BRAT!
Test n°2 : Saw
Despite scare me the greatness of this tool, I was amazed to see that the cuts, in addition to being extremely simple and precise, is came clean!
Here's what the panel cut once (still unfinished)
Now, files in hand, we finish the cut so that it fits precisely!
After 10 minutes I got tired, so I resorted to methods ...hasty
Now go to color!
Took a piece of plexy advancing, I gave a spray of white ... and to my amazement ... it is identical to the original plastic!
BUT! Otherwise, where's the fun? : asd:
The panel will not leave him completely transparent, but will cover the part where you see the bars to fit the original panel so as to give it more "mimetic", who must see to say "That panel has always been there"
:
In addition to the usual frame monotonous straight lines and curves I thought I would do something "different", everything stems from the fact that not long ago I was in love with the 600T and its side panel, as well, with "alternative" methods, I'm trying to copy the particular curves of the panel
BUT! To make it "different", I will leave a subtle nuance that separates the net with the transparent color in order to give effect "fade"
First of all define the parts of the net color
A slight sanded with 1500 grit and then primer!
This is the first coat of color:
And this is a short preview of the finished work!
STAY TUNED!
