It might look nicer, but actually the reason that this is not being done is readability. When lines end at different positions it's easier to remember on which line you were last. Having justified text on rather long lines makes it harder to read long texts and usually, when you're reading something online it's not like in a newspaper, where you have short lines in blocks right next to one another.
