Re: Video Playback HTPC #11
As I said, I'm really curious what you have to say! I have never had the chance to play with an SSHD and it's well possible that I'm too hard on these things.
Sequentials aren't the things I would be worried about, it's the tasks that demand random performance.
I'm really curious about your feedback!

Re: Video Playback HTPC #13
Just realised the case has a 2.5" drive cage and I ordered a 3.5" drive

Fail...

Gonna cancel the order and RAID two Seagate Momentus XT ST95005620AS I already have instead.

Re: Video Playback HTPC #14
Just asked myself the following question "does sound card matter when using optical?".

I think the answer is "not really" since afaik the optical signal isn't been processed.

Update: I will use the onboard audio XD <you can shoot me right now>

Optical will give you decent quality. To your question: yes it matters, since the signal still needs to be processed and that process is never lossless.

Re: Video Playback HTPC #17
Look at what I found:

Play films with the highest quality – HTPC Windows

Looks like a very nice tutorial (available also in french here)

I think I will follow it.

Limitation of CPU cooler: 37~70mm

Re: Video Playback HTPC #20
Yeah I will mount the Noctua later on. I put the stock one to test with it first then the Noctua to test it too and then leave it.
