About This Build
The build is going to be my best Hackintosh for using After effects and editing video. As my last Haswell build, i found the Maximus IV Extreme to be a very good at overclocking for my memories and processor; I can easily run 4700MHz on processor and 2960MHz on memories with primary timings at 12-14-14-35 and 1.65 Vdimm. :thumbup:

Using the G-SKILL 2933 Single sided MFR IC memory from hynix for higher performance timings are tight. The default memory settings at 1333 gave me -2K on Geekbench V3 32bit.

The next Project will be Z87N-WIFI board.

Installation
Using 0711 Bios, there are only several changes in BIOS:
*Using 0711 Bios, there are only several changes in BIOS:
*Change the memory frequency to 2933 with 100 cpu Strap;
*Change primary timings to 12-14-14-35
*Manually set the VDIMM to 1.65;
*Manually set the CPU VTT to 1.05;
*Load Gamers Profile (this profile is ready on ROG board)
I am using Mountain Lion 10.8.4. So, first, I made the UniBeast USB thumb drive with latest UniBeast following the tonymacx86 UniBeast Guide. Additionally, since I installed 10.8.4, I used the tonymacx86 HaswelHelper and HaswelHelper Guide.

Next, boot from your UniBeast USB thumb drive (F and choose your USB called "USB" if you followed the method in the UniBeast Guide. Upon booting into the installer, first, use Disk Utility (top Utilities menu) to Format your installation SSD or HDD, and name it "Mountain Lion". Close Disk Utility. Then, once back into the installer, choose your "Mountain Lion" drive for installation of Mountain Lion 10.8.4.

Note: when installation is finished, use the tonymac86 Temporary Installation Guide for Haswell Systems [10.8.4 only] to copy the modified mach_kernel for Haswell CPUs to your installation drive. Mach_Kernel

When this done reboot and this time boot with your "Mountain Lion" drive; choose country, keyboard and, then, complete the rest of the installation.

Then, you'll see WELCOME TO ML 10.8.4 :thumbup:

We're almost done. Using Safari, go to tonymacx86.com, log in and download the latest MultiBeast to install the appropriate drivers.

Now, reboot.

To finish up, check the Software Update to look for any updates. The App Store will find the new 10.8.5 Download and Update them reboot to install, After reboot you don't need to change anything as 10.8.5 supports Haswell natively. With 10.8.5, you will have full speed with USB3.

Here's What Works So Far:
Audio only USB headset and not Speakers
Network
iMessage
USB 3

Re: BitFenix Black And Red Hackintosh Haswell Build #5
Please help.

I have been trying to install 10.8.4 and it keeps stopping at USB install load.

It boots with USB but when it gets to the apple screen the USB just stops.

Do have any tips?

I have the Maximus Extreme VI and Nivida 780

pulling my hair out here.

Re: BitFenix Black And Red Hackintosh Haswell Build #7
Hiwa,

thanks for the reply. I really do appreciate that.

The screen goes black when booting. I see it loading the extns but is going so fast before black screen I cant tell what one it is. I have tried all the tricks I see. -v -x GraphicsEnabler=no etc. I have the nvida GTX 780.

When I dont enter in extra commands the USB just stops loading. Would that have to do with the graphics card?

Because it will boot. hit the apple logo and then the USB just stops blinking.

I have unplugged everthying. set the bios. tried many things.

All just leading to USB stopping.

thanks again for the reply. cant wait to get this thing working.

Matt
