I can never recall if its a Enermax Rovolution 87+ or the MaXRevo the Lepa G is based on but its one of the two

Well the deisign is very similar to the Platimax. However I dont know if the Platimax or the Lepa was first. But the Maxrevo is also very similar. So when its not based on the Platimax then its probably maxrevo. I dont think its based on revo 87+ (very different).

Its a Seasonic unit

But if its the KM3 its based on i dont know?

Dont think so. The KM3 has typically the 12V Fets on a doughter PCB (like the 660 Platinum (our review will be released of this one very soon))

KM3 has many improvements. The most important are in my view the new 12V Fet solution (especially for high wattage important) and the 9A 85C modular connectors. A disadvantage of Modular cables which is often neglected is that the additional connector has a resistance. It not only burns energy it also has a voltage drop (however the resistivity is usually small). But I've seen a SS-1250 with exploded 12V Fets and also a SS-850 with molten connector. So Seasonic reacted on those issues with the KM3.

Yes a super PCB design. Not only looks very nice optically its also electrically point of view very good. Delta really improved from the HCP-850W.

Its the other way around

The 1000 watts came first and then 1½ later the 850 watts which is the 1000 watts improved

Hmm this kinda surprises me. However the 1000W is very clean and nice and the 850W basically a mess :-).

Re: Enermax Platimax 1350W #4
Yep is similar.
There are minor differences.
I probably don't find time before I come back from Brazil to review this one; but it will be fun to do!
I especially like the Secondary Mosfet solution from Enermax/Lepa. Direct heatsink, low resistivity and low impedance.

Re: Lepa G1600 #5
I think its kinda sad that they didn't put more capacitors there. Even when they are of high end quality and the ripple is extremely low, they are highly loaded (high current). I was surprised to see that there are so few of those; we must consider that we are talking about 130A+. I think that it could be that this becomes a reliability issue under constant high load/temperature. But as I already told those capacitors are high end - they do not fail so easily.
We received the eu Version which is only 230V.
It will be fun to review this device.

Clean and neat design I like it.

I was surprised, it's quite empty for a PSU of this Wattage

Yes
The secondary side is very nice. They would even have space for adding more filtering Capacitors. The 12V Fets are directly cooled.

Super PSU, >1000W Fanless 96% efficiency #7
Hi

Technically it would be possible today to achieve a PSU with 96% efficiency with a Transformer and up to 98% efficiency for a Trafoless PSU. However the Price for such a device would go way up. Its clear, that such a PSU would not pay off with its energy savings. This thread is to estimate the Demand: Would you be interested and how much would you be willing to pay for a (lets say) Fanless 1500W with (95,96.5,96%) efficiency (and also superior other performances like Ripple/noise etc.)?

Up until about two years ago not even Seasonic was pushing in the retail market. Back in the days, they were saying, they have quite few aggreements with OEM customers that use their design and they do not want to stress these relationships. I don't know, but something similar could be the case with SuperFlower.

Might very well be. I think the Leadex has a very good performance/manufacturing price ratio; this probably allows SF to make attractive OEM offers.

Yep they're not even on ebay. We also only have the 1000W plat atm. Review should be released within the next few days.

Its similar to the EVGA but with cheaper components. I think the EVGA is based on the Leadex gold 1000 <-- can't confirm since we have only the Leadex 1000W plat atm.

Aw: Fractal Design power supplies information thread #10
Hi shilka and Welcome

Yes Fractal has some nice PSUs.
We did review the Newton R3 Platinum 600W.
Afaik fractal discontinued the R3 (<-- needs confirmation).

However PSUs from "little" brands are often only limited available and often also relatively high priced.
Sometimes its also a lot of Marketing involved. For ex: I don't understand Super Flower (big Fish in market) to not fully release the Leadex platinum worldwide.
